Waterwheel Route with wooden lodge and picnic included
Picture yourself walking the waterwheel route at your own pace, with a picnic of local produce in your backpack and not having had to organise a thing. And when you come back, the lodge, the pool and, if you fancy, the spa waiting for you.
That is what we put together at Áureo Natura. We are in Abarán, five minutes from the start of the route. The picnic comes out of our kitchen with produce from the Ricote Valley, we hand you the trail map and you simply choose when to set off.

Why do the route from Áureo Natura
It is not the same to step out of the car with your backpack already packed in the lodge, the picnic inside and the whole complex waiting on your return, as arriving at the trailhead without a place to sleep nearby, no idea where to park and no plan for after the walk.
I.
You are 5 minutes from the start.
You step out of the lodge and a short walk later you are at the Waterwheels Park. No car, no looking for a parking spot.
II.
The picnic comes from our kitchen.
Local produce from the Ricote Valley prepared by the restaurant team. You take it on the trail and eat by the river, wherever you choose.
III.
You have the whole complex on return.
Pool, kids' area, paddle and gym, terrace with views. When the route ends, the plan keeps going.
IV.
You organise nothing.
You arrive, we give you everything and you decide when to leave, at what pace to walk and when to come back.

One pack for every plan
The route works the same for everyone. What changes is what happens before and after. See which pack fits your plan.
If you come with family
The route is flat, child-friendly, and the complex has a kids' area and pool for afterwards. Children pay half. A morning plan that turns into a full day without anyone getting bored.

If you come as a couple
The La Noria Grande pack includes private spa and dinner. The route without noise, the spa on return and a dinner with Murcian cuisine taken slowly. Hard to ask more of a weekend.
Recommended: La Noria Grande Pack · €120
If you come with friends
The lodges sleep up to 7 people. Route in the morning, picnic by the river, paddle and terrace in the afternoon. And if someone does not fancy walking, there is the pool and complex to stay in.

What guests who have been here say
All I want is to arrive and have it all sorted. That is what we found here.
The kids would not stop talking about the waterwheels. And the picnic by the river was the moment of the trip.
We did the route, came back to the spa and had dinner without moving. A perfect plan.
Rural accommodation with wooden lodges to enjoy with family or friends. A quiet place, no noise if you are after comfort and relaxation. Wide grounds with a kids' playground, football pitch, lifeguard-staffed pool fit for kids and somewhere to rest while you have a drink. It has a relaxation spa next door. Bar and restaurant with a wide menu. Good service and quality.
Easy access and roads, a bit set apart from nearby towns, but for that comfort it is the best. Five minutes from Abarán and another five from the A3 motorway.
They recommend activities to do with family or in a group: river Segura descent, hiking routes, a visit to the Norias of Abarán (the oldest and largest still-working waterwheels in Europe), the blossom of the nearby orchards, the archaeological museum of Cieza, the Medina Siyâsa ruins, the Blanca viewpoint, etc. — all five minutes away. From Murcia city it is 20 minutes by car if you want to do other things, very close, and it sits right in the Ricote Valley, the last Morisco enclave of Spain.
An excellent place to come with family. Lots of activities for little ones and adults. Outstanding pool for the youngest with play and entertainment areas. The lodge is perfect and well equipped. We had wonderful days here.
The place is exceptional, we had a great stay. A very welcoming spot to come with family or kids, with lots of activities and stunning natural surroundings. The lodges are fully equipped and everything is perfectly organised.
